On April 4, Newton College successfully hosted the 3rd Interschool Science Fair, an educational innovation project that brought together over 1,000 students from various educational institutions across the province. The event focused on promoting science and technology, providing students with opportunities to engage in workshops and activities designed to foster creativity and critical thinking.
OPEN UNIVERSAL STEAM FOR ALL participated in the event, showcasing its new teaching methodology that integrates STEAM (Science, Technology, Engineering, Arts, and Mathematics), Universal Design for Learning (UDL), and the Open School concept. This approach aims to provide inclusive and open learning experiences, tailored to meet the diverse needs of all students, thereby promoting interdisciplinary and practical education.
The fair featured participation from educational institutions such as Muntori Private School (Castalla), Sagrada Familia School (Elda), IES La Canal (Petrer), Salesianos School (Elche), IES Vicente Verdú (Elche), and Newton College (Elche). Additionally, collaborating entities like the University of Alicante, Miguel Hernández University of Elche, and Ciencia en Acción offered more than 14 workshops across 60 sessions, covering topics including forensic chemistry, engineering for the circular economy, and artificial intelligence and robotics.
This annual event underscores Newton College and its partners’ commitment to scientific education and the development of key competencies in 21st-century students.
